Sometimes you meet people that seem to be quite intelligent, yet there are gaps in that intelligence that surprise you. I assume that’s a actually polite way of saying that some people just do not seem to have any official sense when it comes to certain things. Take my Grandma, for example. I enjoy her to death, however she has lived too long on this Earth to not realize that leaving the windows open while the air conditioning system is on is a exhausting thing. It’s kind of ironic, because my own mom taught me this. I assume she learned the difficult way from Grandma’s exhausting example, however grandma thought that leaving the air conditioning system on while the windows were open was getting the best of both worlds. She got the nice, cool air coming from the air conditioning system, although she also had the fresh air blowing in to keep things from getting stale. She even said that it balanced things out so that the fresh air and sunshine would make sure that it wouldn’t get too freezing from the air conditioning system! If she wanted fresh air and sunshine, she would have been much better off simply taking a step outside for a while, now, there are many reasons why this was a exhausting idea, however the main one is that her air conditioning system was laboring harder to cool her home. That meant energy bill costs would go up. I can’t assume her mother never told her, “We’re not cooling down the whole town!” Maybe they didn’t have air conditioning system when she was a child. I’m trying to get through to my Grandma about this air conditioning system problem, however an old pet doesn’t learn current tricks, and doesn’t want to be told how the world works!
