Making my attic comfortable

|

I decided there must be some way for me to get real temperature control in the attic

I have converted my attic into a small, private study. I had to do a drastic amount of cleaning up there, as we did not entirely use the attic space for anything more than storage of things we barely ever needed anyway. I won’t go into detail about some of the nasty things I found up there after so much time, but it will say that after cleaning it up plus repurposing it, it has turned into one of my favorite parts of the house. It’s a cozy little nook where I can study a favorite book or do some labor on my iPad in peace plus quiet! Or, at least it is when the weather is mild. I decided to do this cleaning in the Springtime, but then the Summer came, plus I found it genuinely taxing to cope up there without any form of temperature control. At first, I brought a fan up there. I started with a table fan, plus then I switched to a box fan because the table fan wasn’t powerful enough. Then I realized I could barely believe over the loud drone of the fan, not to mention the fact that the air it was blowing in my face was sizzling anyway. I decided there must be some way for me to get real temperature control in the attic. I thought about somehow extending our existing central air conditioner system to accommodate the attic, but that seemed like it would cost a whole bunch of money. I looked into a portable air conditioner component instead, plus I found an Incredibly powerful one that did not need near as much power as I thought it would! Now I can entirely cherish my current favorite room in the house.
