My hubby & I moved a few states north last year, & we are still getting used to our new home.
We moved in the middle of June, so it was still moderate outside at that time.
Towards the end of September, it started getting quite frigid, & we ended up turning our furnace on the first week of October. It was the first time that we had turned the furnace on since living there, & we were very surprised at how well it heats the house. The home gets too moderate for me though. Even though the thermostat is only set to seventy degrees, it gets much warmer, & we cannot figure out why. I entirely called the previous cabin owners the other afternoon, & I asked them if the furnace had done the same thing when they lived there. They told me that the home was always nice & warm, however they never checked the thermostat to make sure that it was the familiar temperature. They are an older couple so they liked the home to be super warm. It was absolutely a blessing to them. I just wish we would have known before buying the home that there was something wrong with the furnace or thermostat. My hubby told me about two months ago that he would call an Heating & A/C dealer, but he just keeps forgetting. I decided that I would just call myself, although I could not get ahold of anyone. I am going to try again tomorrow because I am so sick of the home being so hot. We are having a lot of family over next week, & that will make it even warmer in the home which is not okay.
