There is a lot of moisture that builds up inside of the laundromat.
Unless I keep the front door open at all times, it gets very humid and warm inside of the building. Last year we had a large dehumidifier installed in the laundromat to help with the humidity problems. Dehumidifiers remove moisture and water from the air and they automatically help to maintain comfort levels by reducing the amount of moisture in the air. Dehumidifiers come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They can be as small as a cup of coffee or as large as a building. Industrial dehumidifiers used in hospitals and Laboratories are as large as a house. I noticed some mold and mildew forming in an area near the left side of the room. I was afraid that the mold and mildew would get worse, so I contacted my local HVAC commercial contractor. I mentioned the problems with the heating and the humidity and they recommended installing an industrial dehumidifier. The industrial dehumidifier is in the ceiling. It removes all of the excess moisture from inside of the building and transports it outside. There is a special drain line from the top of the building all the way down to the bottom so the water from the dehumidifier can properly drain. Since we updated the laundromat with the dehumidifier, I haven’t seen as many problems with mold and mildew. In fact, a couple of customers asked me if I replaced the air conditioner, because the temperatures inside of the building are cooler and more comfortable now that we have a dehumidifier and an air conditioner running at the same time.
