When my neighbor invited me over to her friends household for BBQ & swimming in the lake, I was excited.
It has been so warm the past few weeks that I thought this would be a lot of fun, however, I didn’t take a change of clothes because I figured that I would just dry off in about an hour laying outside.
After my buddy and I swam in the lake for about an hour, all the people headed inside to change. It was then that I discovered that my buddy and I would not be laying outside. My associate and I would be laying inside while the host just ran outside every now & then to check on the BBQ. So I was wet & wrapped in a towel in the cold, air conditioned house. I was freezing. I know I could have sat outside alone however I didn’t really want to do that. Instead I just toughed it out & wished that I had brought dry clothes. The host was really nice & offered me some of her scrub clothes however I declined. Seeing my condition, she talked about her Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system & how she had purchased one for a household twice the size of hers because she is constantly sizzling & loves to run the air conditioner year around. The reason the BBQ party was being held indoors was because she couldn’t imagine laying out in the heat all afternoon. My associate and I all had a wonderful laugh about it. Surprisingly, I was invited back! Next time, I will undoubtedly pack a change of clothes. I could get used to air conditioned BBQ parties.
